You know something?

In all my years as a student, I have never once managed to succesfully be able to register/matriculate/timetable-select in just 1 attempt.

Whywhywhy. :(

Everyone's getting naggy =z

Dad pissed his Mrs big time today. I swore there was this BIG sound of the bumper hitting the kerb when he turned. Miraculously, there was nary a scratch. Anyway, the Mrs was so angry she didn't want to take along the manchiangkueh that he bought for her as tea. But I think the Mrs will be less pissed when she learns it's all just a lousy practical joke he played on her when he gave her that well-honed-but-fake "Shit! I scratched the car again!" look after he got off to check.

Sentosa was fun, better if we could have a few more hours to explore more attractions. Nonetheless, Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon brought much joy. :) I just really really like that tunnel thingy at Underwater; it brought back lots of childhood memories and it was a good place for a few minutes of rest for our tired legs. Every shuttle bus was packed to the brim with hordes of tourists and it's been long since I've been to somewhere this crowded. The pink dolphins were really adorable! Quite tiring though, having to tiptoe and move around to get a better view and to avoid red ants =x

Oh! And I'm really proud to announce we didn't get lost. :)) The map didn't come in handy and Dad's directions flew out of the window. When we got there, we made a faux SOS call back to Mum and got her all panicky!

180: Uhm, we're lost, and we don't know where we are!
Mum: Jialat ah! Where are you? How did you get lost?
180: I don't know...

Mum: Ask her to the phone!
Mum: Where are you now?!
Me: Lost lor.....
Mum: Why? I thought you had the map and directions?
Me: Ya, but we don't know how to get to Dolphin Lagoon to Underwater World!

Hahaha! Felt kinda evil, but everyone had a good laugh.

Must take note not to go to all that restaurants for meals. =x

I really want to watch that Song of the Sea! Tickets were all sold out after we climbed uphill from the carpark, only to find that the escalator could take us up to where we wanted to go. =/I didn't know we had to get tix 3 days beforehand. They didn't state that on the webbie too.

Anyway, my day at Sentosa was FOC! Hehe...
Oh, but I paid for dinner so I suppose we're quits. Except, dinner was disgusting and I'm never ever ordering baked rice from ______ again.

Cousins came over today. Durians for desserts after dinner. VERY VERY filling.
Few more days to start of school. Starting to get worried...

Spruced up my room because it was still a little messy and to my great delight, I found a crisp blue note!

I did read somewhere, eons ago, that hiding money at corners (or some other places you least expect to look into) would be a good way to brighten up your day. I suppose surprises do really add joy (the good ones I mean) so YAY! I'm now 50 bucks richer (though it doesn't really make a diff if you did the math)

Yesterday's meetup was not as awkward as I'd imagine it'd be. Our table of 9 was one of the rowdiest around at MOF. Btw, food there's yummylicious! YL's recount of her camp experience was LOL-funny and there were some really wince-worthy moments amongst them. Like the "banana-feast" and "pseudo lifesaver"....shall keep it at that.

And, midway through her recount, this diner from the other table came up to us with small packets of gifts in his hands and asked us for a favour. Turns out, these gifts were for a friend of his, who was celebrating her 25th birthday. "She likes to receive gifts from strangers," he said. I thought it was pretty interesting and ya, we were trying to guess what was inside the wrappers.

But I thought it'd be quite irritating for her cuz on and off, you'd be getting strangers coming up to you with these gifts and you wouldn't be able to enjoy dinner properly. =/ IF she did have 25 gifts like what a friend speculated. Haha! That said, I suppose most wouldn't mind surprises like that on their birthdays...

When it came to splitting the bill, again, I think we really put accountants to shame! Hahaha. YL got around to doing the math (with a calculator XW volunteered, hahah!) while we sat around and wait. You know, can't work on an empty stomach, can't think with a bursting one.

Just a few hours ago, Carol and I went to watch Singbellz Fest'08 by Dam and group. Quite intriguing, the amount of coordination needed between the handbells players, especially for the semiquavers. However, it bordered on being slightly boring, I'd say "percussion anytime over the bells". Still, I had a personal favourite. =)

Primrose had an impromptu player - the HK conductor's baby girl. Carol insisted she sounded like the sun with the baby face in Teletubbies. =x

Anyway, I got home and fretted over directions to Sentosa =( and Mum called and asked if I wanted to join them for supper.
Which explains why I'm still blogging here at this ungodly hour.

My room's now neat and partially dust-free. I say partially because I still got 2 cupboards to clean up. Hahaha!

I don't know what to do with the bulldog soft toy that dropped from the top cupboard. Guess I'll have to try squeezing it back there tomorrow. I'm quite happy to be able to see what my table looks like. I almost forgot how it looked like with all that piles of rubbish.

I dunked all the brochures/pamphlets for the institutes I couldn't get into. Tore each into strips with vengence! Okay, exaggeration and kidding! But those were really taking up lots of empty space. And I have truckloads of rough papers, all from work. Those are staying...to save trees. :)

I realised I have soooo many bookmarks I don't think I'll be able to use each and every one at the rate I'm reading. Played around with my drumsticks and drum pad a bit while sweeping the dust off it, and my left hand/wrist is like retarded. Seem to have lost it somehow.

I had groceries to do after piano today, and Mr 180 happened to be free. So he came to pick me up at the busstop and we headed to J8.

Was abit perplexed over where he should park because his car doesn't have that cash card slot thingy (I don't know what that's called). Thank god for old, lok-kok carparks where you have to insert the cash card into the slot before the barrier would lift.

I got a Hagen Daz treat! Felt quite bad because he refused to let me pay, and he isn't like earning big bucks doing internship. He claimed he asked me out when I thought it was really the other way round. =x

He took the basket while I happily dropped my buys in it. Had a bit of trouble hunting down the salted eggs and corn flour so we went round NTUC like twice over. The total couldn't add up to $10 so I got him to grab 2 packets of Ricola to top up. That part-timer cashier was already giving us that "Are you done yet?" look even though we weren't holding up the queue. =/

Mum's managed to coerce a waffle and k session outta me for ________.

Can't believe we had to cab down to ECP from Parkway Parade on Wednesday. My bad - didn't know the shuttle service was only available on weekends and got Carol to walk all the way there. We couldn't even direct the driver where exactly at ECP we were to alight, so we just told him "any bicycle rental shop will do".

$5.50 for cab fare! Good thing the bicycle rentals weren't exorbitant. And we piled back whatever we've lost in our 2 hours of cycling with a BK meal. She appeared very dazed after our late lunch; it was quite hilarious.

Carol! I don't know if she'll scream at me for posting this picture up =/ But I quite like it. And yes, she was extremely tanned; a far cry from our last Kbox meetup.

Carol took a full length shot - and she asked me to do the same for her. Somehow, it turned out

like that. Carol went, "Eh! I thought you were supposed to take a full length shot! Why only half?!"

Hahaha, I'll leave you to decide who's the better photographer.

:))

I PASSED MY FTT!

Now I have to better my lane-changing and do more reviews and assessments...

And I got a movie and dinner treat from Mr 180 hahahah. It was quite a struggle just deciding which movie to watch. The earlier ones were all sold out, and we watched Hancock in the end. Interesting twist towards the end, worth a watch ;) Then, we walked from PS to FarEast and took a bus down to his and my mum's workplace. Hung around till she could leave and that stubborn woman refused to take her seat beside him. I relented, because she didn't look like she was about to give in anytime soon and I was tired :(

So we got a lift back in his mrbean-car with my mum squashed at the back. Lol!

I forgot about these....

That's Jamus - my cousin's baby boy :)
It's only been months and he's all grown up!
Babies like him make me feel so old, haha!
He's really really cute - he doesn't sleep on his side, adopting the starfish-like posture with his arms and feet wide apart. When he's first aroused, he plops his face on the bed with his butt lifted. My cousin complains of hand aches just carrying him around for a mere 15 minutes.

I took my auto transmission lesson last night. Good thing driving at night wasn't as scary as I'd thought =)

I had the urge to depress the non-existent clutch and gear up everytime I hear the engine roar =/ The instructor thought I couldn't speak Mandarin and spoke to me in smattering English for a good first half hour. When I finally got to speak, I spoke in Mandarin and I thought I saw him heaved a sigh of relief as we continued conversing in Mandarin for the remaining 1.5 hours. Haha!

I had the chance to speak to guys of Pakistani-Chi/ French-chi blood, and this competitive swimmer from some European country thanks to Facebook Speeddate. Haha. Pretty interesting...

I didn't expect to see her at J8 today. Small world indeed. She's tall! and slim. Or maybe I'm just short and stumpy =x Hahaha!

Sat
Parallel parking!

I always have to pause and think whether I should full lock to left or right. :/ It gets confusing at times.

Accompanied Bro to town to get his Brazilians. I relented after his incessant pestering (collected $10 from him, haha!) and yay! I got to see a cute someone there.

Then he had KFC for lunch and kindly got an additional cup of mash potato for me, and brought me to Coffee Bean! :)

I was chiding him for being such a spendthrift and he readily admitted they (both the gf and himself) really know how to "enjoy life". Ya, right.... Really, what do they know about "enjoying life"?

Anyway, we were out again yesterday and that Sakae at ____'s really sparse. Mum's kinda pissed because everything she ordered off the menu ran out. Bros played us out at the 11th hour, and we ended up fretting about what's for dinner because sushi couldn't fill our stomachs.

Sun
Review! Could've passed if it weren't for lane-changing. Got to overcome the fear of lane-changing amidst heavy traffic. Need to pass FTT, need to pass FTT.......

Today
No need for me to head down to Raffles Place on weekdays anymore :) Met dasistas! at Cine for a K-session and ran into Wanying. Had loads of fun as usual

Weird, my throat feels kinda painful now. It's very unusual.... :/

A while ago, I kicked my foot against the corner of my cupboard, for the n-th time.
I have a knack for it; I'm getting better at it each time.

I don't know where I put my diary! :( Feeling a bit handicapped without it - not that I'm really all organised at all to start with. Still...I'm relatively upset about losing it because I have birthdays all noted, my lessons etcetera.

Ah! Irritated.

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

I think I have a problem with sleeping early.

Really spaced out at work today; I just kept counting down to 515.

Poor YJ's got track marks on her legs. Hope it gets much better the next time I see her.

Hope Friday swings around faster than ever. ;)

Caught 21 with Linn, YJ and Wilson.

Wasn't too bad, just a bit long and draggy halfway through.

Ran into Mr Tan at PlazaSing and stood there, chatting.

After the short session of catching up, we headed to Secret Recipe for Banana Chocolate cake because we didn't know where else to go. Very yummylicious and filling, and I couldn't finish dinner after that.

Must remember to check blind spot before turning and not do the 2 simultaneously.

Lane changing's not easy.

Last Monday blue tmr! :) Till school starts.

4 more days, cuz Thurs' for medical checkup. :))

Yayyay!

After this week, I'll be:

1) meeting dasistas for KBox!

2) meeting Celia someday the same week

3) lazing at home

4) looking forward to chalet.

and yay! Grats dadajie! Very very very happy for you!
早就应该在一起了。他再拖,我看就会有别的男生虎视眈眈了。哈哈!

Vertical parking today. Satisfaction seeing the car parked properly in the middle of the slot. :)

I need to use both hands to engage the handbrake because it wouldn't be lifted to the max if I did it with only a hand. Slopes are a big problem, especially at the entrance.

I'm worried about FTT. It's on the 19th, which is really near. Need to pass. Need. to. pass.

"Always Be My Baby" by David Cook's really addictive.

I'd like a new addition to my PreciousMoments collection. Haven't set sight on any one in particular, but I'd like to see a new one somewhere.

11th. 14th. 30th. wootswootswoots.

You Are An ISFP

The Artist

You are a gifted artist or musician (though your talents may be dormant right now).

You enjoy spending your free time in nature, and you are good with animals and children.

Simply put, you enjoy beauty in all its forms and live for the simple pleasures in life.

Gentle, sensitive, and compassionate - you are good at recognizing people's unspoken needs.

In love, you are quiet and sweet yet very passionate. You love easily.

You have an underlying love for all living things, and it's easy for you to accept someone into your heart.

At work, you do best in an unconventional position. You express yourself well and can work with almost anyone.

You would make a good veterinarian, pediatrician, or composer.

How you see yourself: Sympathetic, kind, and communicative

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Incompetent, insecure, and overly sensitive

What's Your Personality Type?

Got this. Don't think it's really accurate because I'm not exactly "good with animals". But oh well, just killing time.

The other day, I was chatting with Linn and YJ online over msn when Linn suddenly asked,
"we're best frens right (sad emoticon)" which threw us both off track.

Even between "best friends" there will always be that one/few you're always closer to than the other in that same clique of "best friends", no?

Don't know how "anti-social" I am (like what some have told me in my face), but I'll admit I don't have like a whole school of good friends. Surely your friends for keeps can't be everyone you've said "hi" to/exchanged phone numbers with.

There will always be people you will regret not knowing better; but there are the rest that you know you will never regret knowing.

She's back!

Was in the same lift and I couldn't recognise her. 3 months of motherhood must have done some wonders - she looked so refreshed and younger!

Her return hasn't lessened my workload; I still process payments and all, and the radio's barely audible at my side. The table's so bare I'm so short of stationery, files and clips. The one thing I wished would not appear on the table's the phone. Unfortunately, it's sitting there at that corner and it rings pretty frequently. It's loud, jarring and irritating.
Anyway, I guess having little clutter will make packing a whole lot easier when 11th July swings around :)

Activities activities activities! I've been out and about an awful lot recently, I don't know if my menial salary's enough at all. Maybe for a start, I should refrain from fast food restaurants, and have proper, and cheaper, meals.

I want a haircut. I feel like getting a really short crop-but I think my face will look damn round.
Maybe I'll go back to a bob. Or maybe I'll just leave it to the hairdresser. Haha!

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Monday blues aren't half as bad when you know you've other friends caught up in the same situation. Haha! Building one's pleasure on others' misery -what a sadist.

Yijin was so very kind to keep me company with her sms-es; telling me about red ants she sees at her workstation and her continuing yet fruitless "elimination". I reciprocated by sharing with her my newest eye candy - this cute guy from the IT dpt who was helping to install some programs at my side :)

I was idling around for a while after a very heavy lunch and looking forward to going home on the dot. And she had to come up just as I was done packing, and asked me to do adjustments! I almost started swearing, but ended up hissing. Inside, I was fuming because she had the entire day to do this, but chose such an impeccable moment instead. She just pushed it that bit more because she couldn't tell me where I should adjust the expense to.

Anyway, I was slightly surprised when I handed my timesheet over to him for his signature and he actually asked if I accounted for OT properly. "I think you did more OT than that..." And he turned to me, as if beckoning me to add in a couple more hours under the OT column. Haha!
