Recent spate of events brought on the "damn! growing-up-and-not-that-young-anymore" thought.

One distinctive one is, of course, getting that attachment letter. God knows how many sweating palms and pounding hearts there were just tearing off that one envelope that'd have partly decided how you were going to spend that last semester in the near future.
You know you can't just fool around, and expect people to make things right thereafter; that you'd probably have more difficulty looking for seats for lunch; that you would be, (or maybe, are already) visiting G-2-thousand more than seventy-seventh st. or sth...

And when at lunch, people are already making plans to visit clubs/pubs for booze after work.

Ok. If you decide that THAT jolt isn't apparent enough. Wait till you hear this.
You see a friend come online way past 12 midnight. You ask "why are you so late?" and she says "I just got home."
You happily (or naively) thinks it's because of work, and she tells you it's because she'd been at someone's house making out.
Uh, how do I put this?
So these days, making out's probably nothing, not that I've tried. But it certainly left me slightly startled, to have that smacked in my face. Maybe it came as a rude shock BECAUSE I haven't tried. It might have been different if I'd a similar experience.
And, I haven't expected to hear stuffs like that from friends.

I hear some teacher/principle screaming into the mike since 9 this morning, probably some school's National Day celebration, and know I'm not part of it.

I guess I need to, what they call, "wake up my idea"... and GROW UP.

ok i think i freaked you out enough that you actually blogged about it.
it's good to be young and naive! just enjoy it, you'll grow up sooner or later and the grown up part will be much longer than the young part. my theory is that be in no hurry to get anywhere, most importantly enjoy the stage that you are at now because you might not come across it anymore. Then next time you can look back and remember how it was like to be naive and remember that you ENJOYED being young. so be in no hurry to grow up! u'll get there, just enjoy right now.

people normally conceal personal events and avoid it sounding too dramatic.

like when your friend says she was making out she probably wasn't JUST making out. :D

but yeah, i don't want her to faint and have to go to her house to rescue her from the extreme shock. "making out" is a nice phrase to use, no? haha...
