chaperon'in
2 days ago, seeing how it's already tues (at this unearthly hour though i've got nothing much to do), i was at istana park with steph to do chaperon'in.we reached early, and waited while the rest did the PA stuff. after collecting those sponsered tees, we walked to the mobile toilets only to find it locked. students were expected to be in soon, and desperate us ran through the underpass to PS' toilets to change instead.
in our soaked tees, we made our way to sg shopping centre to await the arrivals of the sch buses. and guess what?! they came from all over the area other than the one place that we were stupidly waiting at. how nice of them to make us run round like madwomen, again~
anw, i didn't have a good time managing two schs tgt at the same time. and it didn't help that we had one grp that was kinda snobbish. little miss-es know-it-all(s)~~~
the other (a mixed sch) had guys, or rather, little monkeys, running all over the place, standing atop places posing like raffles.
so ya, [little miss-es know it alls MEET little monkeys and miss-es talk-non-stop EQUALS headaches]
scorching hot weather, even though it rained hrs ago, thoroughly soaked, and stinking to the high heavens. thank god Kim could take over chaperoning one sch during the actual show, so i was spared of the monkeys. =)
the walkie talkie (aka.talkabout, as written on the device) was cranky. i screamed myself hoarse at times, and strained to hear what was coming through it.
supportive parents came along with the kids, and teachers who brought along mosquito repellents to spray kids who lined up for that. it'd be nice to spray a lil' on us too - i got like 6 mosquito bites or sth. =s i'm so prone to bites. of all stuff/people/insects, i had to appear attractive to big fat blood-suckers. how fantabulous.
right, then, sth cropped up during the concert and we had to play councillors to SOME sulky princesses. nerve-wrecking but i think the finale made up for it.
and after the end of the concert, i accompanied 2 teachers + 2 students back to their bus (a BIG and EMPTY bus) since the rest had parents taking them home. which wasn't a smart thing to do since there'd be no one to help take the instrus when they're back at sch~
wells. that was it.
i think i'll have another go at chaperoning again. sometime.
